The Monoprice Mini Delta V2 3D Printer is a low-cost, beginner-friendly 3D printer. It’s quick and works with a variety of filaments, however, the build area is small and the print quality is average. It’s a good introduction to 3D printing because of its easy and practically error-free operation. This is the second iteration of the device; we already evaluated the first model.

Features:

The Mini Delta is a low-cost printer with built-in WiFi and an auto-leveling bed. The item has a large, colorful screen on the front, yet there are three navigation keys on the right. The Mini Delta, in contrast to the cluttered, interminable menus we’re used to, displays only a few selections per screen.

Design:

The Delta 2 employs three spider-like arms instead of the usual left-right and forward-back rails that the print head slides along in conventional 3D printers. It’s a fascinating motion to behold, but there’s one drawback: the print area is circular.

Software and   Connectivity:

Monoprice offers a customized version of the open-source Cura 4.3 for the Mini Delta V2. You can change numerous print parameters in addition to scaling, shifting, rotating, and other operations. Files can be saved to MicroSD or your computer, or sent to the printer through USB or Wi-Fi.

Printing:

You may improve your models significantly by slowing down the print speed. Layers are much more difficult to identify at the slowest setting, and there are significantly fewer residual filament strands hanging off. PETG (the plastic used in beverage bottles) and wood-infused filaments can be utilized to make models with this printer (although this requires a metal nozzle).

Safety Noise:

The Mini Delta, being an open-frame 3D printer, poses a risk to small children or anyone unaware of the dangers of touching the hot extruder nozzle. While the printer is heated up or cooling down, the nozzle might still produce a burn. Because the molten plastic filament used in 3D printing can produce fumes, use the printer in a well-ventilated area.

Controls:

A touch screen and a plastic pen are supplied with the Monoprice Delta Mini V2 3D printer. The PoloPrint Pro app is available in a pre-release version for both iOS and Android. A slicing app like Cura is the best approach to set up a print. On the micro SD card that comes with the printer, there is a customized version of this program for Windows and Mac.

Conclusion:

The Monoprice Mini Delta V2’s use of the delta rather than the Cartesian coordinate system will pique the interest of 3D printing experts, but beginners will appreciate its low price, ease of use, and quick production.
