Epson Label Works LW-PX900PCD Deluxe Kit Review
A step up from the label printer that won Experts’ Pick for medium- to heavy-duty commercial labeling is Epson Label Works LW-PX900. The capacity to handle wider tape, up to 36mm, separates the two (1.42 inches). Additionally, it is a little bit faster, has a greater resolution, and works with die-cut tapes.

Epson Label Works LW-PX900PCD Deluxe Kit Review: Design:
- Brand LABELWORKS
- Connectivity Technology USB
- Printing Technology Thermal
- Special Feature Wireless
- Color Black
- Model Name LW-PX900PCD
- Printer Output Color
- Item Weight 2.78 Pounds

Its largest dimensions are 11.6 inches, 5.4 inches throughout the top across the 3.2-inch LCD screen, and 3.75 inches broad at the handle end. It weighs 2.78 pounds. Even though the printer can be held in both palms for thumb typing, I found it to be too hefty to hold for an extended period.

Label Everything: 150 Tapes to Chose Among:
In addition to the types and widths offered by the LW-PX900, roughly 30 additional tape cartridge options are now obtainable. The cost of a cartridge varies depending on the label size and ranges from a 12mm cartridge to a 36mm cartridge. The length, cost, and variety of specialty tape options vary depending on the type.
Effortless Printing with Epson’s Label Editor Software
Similar to the LW-PX700, the LabelWorks LW-PX900 allows users of Windows laptops or desktops to download and print using Epson’s Label Editor software. The latest version, 2.04, provides a driver that enables you to print from other Windows apps. Label Editor is both capable and easy to use, as I’ve mentioned in my reviews of other Epson label printers.
Unfortunately, there’s no support for printing from macOS. However, Windows users can enjoy seamless printing from their laptops or desktops, making the LW-PX900 an excellent choice for those who need to print labels frequently.
Virtually Identical Printing without an Attached PC
The LW-PX900 offers printing without an attached PC, which is almost identical to doing so from the LW-PX700. However, it provides more options to use wider tapes and tapes with die-cut labels. The printer’s built-in features include:
- Storing and retrieving up to 100 label definitions
- Printing barcodes and QR codes
- Printing in vertical or horizontal orientation
- Printing labels in mirror image
- Using any of 859 industrial and professional symbols
One of the printer’s most impressive features is the Drop Stop option. When you switch it on, the printer stops after cutting each label to wait for you to remove it from the output slot before printing the next one. This feature ensures that you don’t waste any labels and helps you save money in the long run.
Print instantly or directly from a Windows PC.
It is 3 times quicker than the previous generation and allows for instant printing from Windows laptops and desktops. Up to 100 label configurations can be saved and retrieved, and bar codes and QR codes can be printed as built-in capabilities. Print immediately or from a Windows computer
Printing Options
One of the LW-PX900’s biggest strengths is its flexibility when it comes to printing. If you’re using a Windows computer, you can download and print from Epson’s Label Editor software, which is both capable and easy to use. The software also includes a driver that lets you print from other Windows apps, making it even more convenient.
If you don’t want to use a computer, you can still print labels directly from the LW-PX900 using its built-in features. You can store and retrieve up to 100 label definitions, print barcodes and QR codes, print in vertical or horizontal orientation, print labels in mirror images, and use any of the 859 industrial and professional symbols available. Moreover, the LW-PX900 is equipped with a Drop Stop feature, enabling you to print several labels with a single command. It pauses after cutting each label, providing time for you to extract it from the output slot before initiating the printing of the subsequent label.
Impressive Print Speed and Resolution
The LW-PX900 is an incredibly fast printer, with a print speed of 35mm or 1.38 inches per second (ips) on AC power.
This speed exceeds the 0.4 inches per second rating of the Brady BMP21-Plus by more than three times and is slightly faster than both the LW-PX700 (1.18 inches per second) and the Brady BMP41 (1.3ips).In my tests, the LW-PX900 achieved a speed of 1.2 inches per second when printing four copies of a 4.6-inch label with text.
The printer’s 360dpi resolution is also worth noting. It’s double the typical sharpness of this class of printer and slightly more than the 300dpi of the BMP41.
For most labels, the high resolution won’t have a noticeable impact. Yet, when I printed five lines of text on a tape that measured slightly less than half an inch in width, it produced sharp and easily readable 5-point text.
With a 360dpi resolution, the LW-PX900 delivers sharp and clear text and graphics. While this may not make a big difference for most labels, it can be a game-changer when printing small fonts or intricate designs. In our tests, we printed five lines of text on a tape slightly less than half an inch wide, and the LW-PX900 delivered crisp and readable 5-point text.
It must be on your small list.:
Our Experts’ Pick selection for clearly heavily loaded use is the Label Works LW-PX900. The only printer in this group that can print tapes wider than one inch is this one. The Brady BMP21-Plus has an ABCD numeric keyboard and is the least priced in the group.
Pros:
- Lifetime guarantee and 4-foot drop testing
- allows for a variety of tag materials and sizes up to 1.42 inches wide
- Labels may be cut without the backing being removed, leaving a continual strip.
- has a keyboard, storage, and a labeling application for Windows PCs for standalone publishing.
Cons:
Conclusion:
Epson’s tough, versatile LabelWorks LW-PX900 prints plastic, vinyl, fluorescent, reflective, and cable labels up to 36mm (1.42 inches) wide to satisfy the majority of commercial labeling requirements. It can also print when linked to a Windows Computer.
