Ecovacs Deebot OZmo T8 AIVI Review

Ecovacs Deebot OZmo T8 AIVI Review

The Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI can vacuum and clean your floors. It has artificial intelligence and visual interpretation (AIVI), which allows it to detect and avoid obstacles autonomously. Although it’s pricey, it’s one of the most feature-packed hybrid floor-cleaning robots we’ve seen.

Design and Setup:

Although the Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI is one of the biggest floor-cleaning robots I’ve encountered, it’s still tiny enough to fit under most furnishings. It has a variety of sensors for mapping and navigation, as well as an artificial intelligence processor and a camera that can distinguish items like power cords and socks that could come in the way of the robot.

Remove the protective film from the Ozmo, insert the side brushes, plug the docking station into the wall, manually set the robot on its docking station, and turn it on to get started. An extra set of side brushes and a filter are included in the box The Ozmo doesn’t come with a controller, but you can control it with the Ecovacs Home app (for Android and iOS), Amazon Alexa, or Google Assistant. It worked nicely with Google Assistant, allowing me to start and end cleaning tasks simply by speaking.

Specs:

The Ecovacs T8 AIVI robot vacuum has four suction levels and a built-in camera that maps your house. When the robot discovers carpets, it immediately increases the suction to its maximum setting to penetrate the strands deeply. The machine’s maker claims a three-hour runtime in quiet mode, which I found to be accurate.

App Features:

The Ecovacs Deebot robot vacuum develops a precise map of your home, indicating the cleaning path it will take for each task. The app remembers when it cleaned and dusted the last time, as well as where it cleaned and scrubbed and how many barriers it skirted.Like a roaming home security camera, the Video Butler function enables remote, on-demand home monitoring.

Video monitoring:

It has a built-in camera that allows you to see what’s in its path as it drives around the house. You may use the app to capture video, take photos, and even communicate with individuals in different rooms. You may use the T8 as a wandering security camera by driving it around the house. This means you can keep an eye on your pets or assign duties to your children while you’re away from home. Using the app’s built-in video manager, you can also arrange ‘patrols’ of your home.

Performance:

Obstacle-detection technology in the Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI robot vacuum recognizes impediments in its path. To maximize cleaning efficiency, the app recommends that you remove these obstructions. In tests, the battery lasted up to 170 minutes in auto cleaning mode after being charged. In auto mode, it was able to do two complete passes over my 1,000-square-foot property.

Maintenance:

For the Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI, Ecovacs produces an Auto-Empty Station that can empty the bin without your help. It costs an extra, but it reduces maintenance and dust exposure dramatically. The reusable microfiber cleaning cloth should be washed and dried after each use, and replaced after 50 washes, according to Ecovacs. The Ecovacs Deebot robot includes a self-emptying station that collects material from the robot’s bin and deposits it in a dust bag. The iRobot Roomba s9+ is $50 more expensive than the Auto-Empty Station. After each use or every couple of runs for minor jobs, empty and wipe down the dustbin.

Mopping:

The Ozmo T8 AIVI robot vacuum and mop from Ecovacs are capable of removing 99.26% of bacteria from your floors. The robot leaves a thin film of water on the floor as it mops, which quickly dries. The robot identifies carpets and moves away from them when mopping, according to the handbook. You must manually maneuver Deebot’s Ozmo T8 AIVI mopping robot since it gets trapped in locations it can’t get out of. When the robot is through cleaning, it notifies you to remove the cleaning cloth plate vocally and sends you a reminder in the app reminding you to do so.

The Ozmo Pro from Ecovacs is an oscillating mopping attachment for the Deebot that vibrates up to 480 times per minute to combat set-in stains. At the same time, the Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI robot vacuums and mops. The Ozmo Pro system detects carpets and keeps them from getting wet using updated ultrasonic sensors (rather than height-based sensors). It has virtual boundaries and no-mop zones, as well as four different water flow levels (low, medium, high, and extremely high).

Pros:

  • Detects and avoids obstructions autonomously.
  • Battery life is amazing.
  • With the built-in camera, it’s possible to monitor your home from afar. It also supports virtual borders.

Cons:

  • Mops containing water, not cleaning products, are more costly.
  • Coursework is modest.
  • The Auto-Empty Station is available for purchase individually.

Conclusion:

The Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI is an expensive 2-in-1 robot sweeper and mop with good battery life, obstacle detection, and a novel home monitoring feature.
