Design & Features:

The U2723QE claimed to be the first 27-inch monitor in the world to include LG’s IPS Black technology. Compared to standard IPS displays, it can provide a broader dynamic range and 35% deeper blacks. 2000:1 contrast ratio is possible, which is double as much as on prior models. Additionally, it has VESA Display HDR 400 accreditation, average luminance of 400 nits, and an average colour depth of 8 bits.

The new Dell U2723QE display boasts a USB-C port that can offer up to 90W of electricity as well as fast 10GBps Superfast USB ports. For the first time, I can put my MacBook Pro into this socket without utilizing a large 96W charging cable. The ports reduce the amount of wire confusion on my desktop and operate at high speeds and reliability constantly.

The Dell Ultra Sharp U2723QE has a sleek and modern design that looks great in any workspace. The slim bezels give the display a seamless and elegant look, while the stand provides sturdy support and allows for easy adjustments.

One of the standout features of this monitor is its USB-C hub, which allows you to connect and charge multiple devices directly through the monitor. This is a great feature for professionals who need to connect their laptop, phone, and other devices at the same time.

The U2723QE also offers a variety of connectivity options, including HDMI, DisplayPort, and USB-A ports, as well as a headphone jack and a built-in USB 3.0 hub. This makes it easy to connect to a wide range of devices and peripherals, whether you are working on a laptop or a desktop computer.

Performance:

Although IPS Black screen technology does give a noticeable increase to black deep, in our opinion, it still only offers a slight enhancement over the contrast offered by a comparable high-end “normal” IPS display. Although a screen of this size with a 4K resolution ensures incredibly sharp visuals, be ready to scale Windows’ display to at least 150% to easily see text and symbols.

The Dell Ultra Sharp U2723QE offers excellent performance, with a 27-inch IPS panel that delivers stunning 4K resolution and a wide colour gamut. The monitor also offers a fast 60Hz refresh rate, making it great for gaming and other fast-paced activities.

In addition to its excellent display quality, the U2723QE also offers a range of features that make it ideal for professionals. These include a fully adjustable stand, a built-in USB hub, and a USB-C port that supports Power Delivery up to 90W, making it possible to charge laptops and other devices directly through the monitor.

Picture Quality:

Despite having a 400 nit highest brightness, the Dell U2723QE external monitor appears to have a 1,600 nit maximum brightness on its display. However, the Dell monitor started to show its flaws when I put it to the test by watching some HDR videos. I would advise you to switch off HDR because this screen is not a true HDR one.

The Dell U2723QE features outstanding text clarity, a more precise colour, and a greater contrast ratio. I can observe the display from both sides without the colours appearing washed out because the viewing angle is wide enough. Despite Dell’s lower pixel density—163 PPI as opposed to my MacBook’s 254 PPI—the text still appears incredibly clear, crisp, and flawless.

Pros:

  • IPS Black technology boosts contrast and deeper black levels
  • 4K resolution for clear, high-pixel-density images.
  • a long list of ergonomic characteristics
  • You may daisy-chain monitors using dual DisplayPort ports.

Cons:

  • An expensive 27-inch monitor with no webcam

Conclusion:

Although it isn’t cheap, Dell’s UltraSharp 27 4K USB-C Hub Monitor offers a wide range of connectivity and modification options, enhancing an especially vibrant display with excellent contrast and a wide color palette.
