Brother MFC-J6945DW INKvestment Tank Color Inkjet Printer Review
The Brother MFC-J6945DW is a small-office-focused broad all-in-one inkjet printer with light- to moderate printing capabilities. It has a sizable sheet input capability and can print, duplicate, scan, and fax tabloid-size pages. The icing on the cake is how effectively it prints and how little it costs every page.
Features:
The multifunctional Brother MFC-J5945DW is a four-in-one machine. The fundamentals include printing, scanning, copying, and faxing. Its highest print resolution of 1,200 x 4,800 pixels is pleasingly high. It is quite simple to convert an A4 scan to A3 sheets thanks to a built-in function. Compared to the majority of inkjets in this category, operating costs are less.
Design:
It has a tilting panel that makes it simple to use and a 9.3 cm touchscreen that is reasonably responsive. The two paper trays are deep enough just to hold 500 sheets of paper among them, and the inkjet reload cartridges are bigger than those found in your typical picture printer.
Setup and operation:
Enter your Wi-Fi password and email address is significantly simpler with touchscreen control than it was with the previous non-touchscreen method. The Brother iPrint&Scan companion app can be accessed on your smartphone by scanning a QR code that has been applied to the printer and is also reprinted in the Quick Setup Guide.
When you download this to your smartphone, the app will instantly identify and connect to the printer so you can print, scan, and check the printer’s status from your phone. Simply open the 2 drawers, load them with A4 paper in portrait position, or extend the drawer to accept A3 paper to load paper. It is advisable to place heavier glossy photo paper into the rear multifunctional tray where it will be simpler for the rollers to drag it through the inkjet. Before we recognized this, we printed a few copies that were smudged.
Connection:
Your mobile devices can be connected directly to the printer using the built-in Wi-Fi, NFC, USB, and other connectivity options on the Brother MFC-J6945DW. You can connect directly to Dropbox, Evernote, Google Drive, OneDrive, and OneDrive using Brother’s Web Link services. Other Brother cloud applications include Cloud Secure Print, Scan to Office, and Office Print (for printing from mobile devices and Microsoft Office 365).
Performance:
For the most part, the Brother MFC-J5945DW prints rapidly and silently. Quick monochrome printing and printing of greater quality take much longer to complete. You can produce sheets of clear text at a rate of 22ppm while in standard mode. You will only receive around 1⁄2 that speed when you go to fine mode. A3 paper can be printed on with the Brother MFC-J5945DW, and both shiny and simple A3 sheets are supported. The colors appear a touch muted in comparison to other inkjets, with some smoothness at the margins where the colors are not as well held. The development of horizontal lines on a photo print, a certain indication that a printhead has become obstructed, was another issue we observed.
Pros:
• low operating costs
• excellent print quality
• three sources of sheet feed.
• ADF with single-pass duplexing.
• tabloid-sized pages can be printed, scanned, copied, and faxed.
Cons:
• Cooperation from super-tabloids might be more beneficial.
Conclusion:
The Brother MFC-J6945DW is an excellent value for smaller organizations since it prints nicely, is feature-rich, and is affordable to use. It is a wide-format color inkjet all-in-one printer.
