Bissell SpinWave wet and dry Robotic vacuum Review

Bissell’s SpinWave Wet and Dry is the company’s first dual-purpose robot. It’s a sturdy vacuum that suctions trash from low-pile carpeting and hard floors with ease. In addition, when mopping, it can automatically detect and avoid carpets. It lacks voice home mapping and voice control capabilities.

SpinWave Wet and Dry Features:

One of the most appealing models I’ve seen is Bissell’s SpinWave robot vacuum. It includes a dry tank for vacuuming and a mopping tank. On the bottom of the wet tank are two circular mop pads that spin to scrub hard floors with a cleaning solution or simple water. Some of the most popular robot vacuum cleaners include the iLife V8s Robot Vacuum Cleaner, Proscenic M7 Pro, and Bissell SpinWave Wet and Dry. The iRobot Braava Jet m6 uses a cleaning solution, but there is just one recipe available. Most other robot mops and 2-in-1s, such as the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI, are only capable of cleaning with water.

Performing Vacuuming and Mopping Tasks with the SpinWave:

The Bissell SpinWave has a suction power of 1,500Pa and a dustbin capacity of 13.5 ounces. In Spot mode, the robot cleans in a spiral pattern for five minutes, covering a 40-by-40-inch space. The official battery life estimate for the SpinWave is up to 100 minutes, which is adequate but not exceptional. Check out the Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI if you’re seeking a hybrid robot with long battery life. In mopping mode, the Bissell SpinWave robot mop identifies and avoids carpet. This is a helpful feature that is surprisingly uncommon.

Other robots that mop with little more than water and a stationary pad leave streaks. After a single pass, the SpinWave left my floors shinier than any other robot I’ve tested. The brush roll and caster wheel should be cleaned every few months, and the edge brushes should be cleaned regularly, according to the manufacturer. Emptying the trash can is simple, but it exposes you to dust and other allergies. If you have allergies, choose a robot that can empty your bins automatically.

Navigation that’s not so great:

To avoid mopping over carpeting, the robot employs a carpet sensor to detect soft ground. During several mopping sessions throughout my home’s flooring, the robot, on the other hand, frequently became completely perplexed. Area rugs with thin to medium piles, in particular, were too much for it to manage.

Controlling the SpinWave:

Because the Bissell SpinWave lacks a separate remote control, you’ll have to rely on the app to access all of the machine’s settings and capabilities. To connect to the robot’s Wi-Fi network, simply download the Bissell Connect app (available for Android and iOS) and sign in or establish a new account. The robot had a connectivity issue and wouldn’t operate with the app at one point during testing, so I had to look for a QR code under the dustbin and scan it with my phone.

You can remotely start, stop, or pause the robot, send it back to its base station, schedule cleanings, track your cleaning history, and troubleshoot difficulties with the Bissell SpinWave app. The software also keeps track of lifetime statistics including distance traveled, time spent cleaning, and the total number of cleaning jobs completed. Higher-end hybrids, like the Roborock S6 MaxV, can map your home and allow you to control it remotely.

For Floors That Sparkle:

The Bissell SpinWave Wet and Dry is a vacuum and mopping robot in one. It works fast and softly on hard floors, sucking up pet hair and dust. You may use your phone to start, stop, and schedule cleaning sessions with SpinWave. The Deebot Ozmo T8 AIVI is our Editors’ Choice among high-end hybrid versions if you’re ready to spend more.

Pros:

  • Robotic vacuum and scrubbers
  • A cleanup solution is required.
  • When scrubbing, it automatically avoids the carpet.

Cons:

  • There are no mapping options or voice control.
  • During testing, the robot became caught on some furniture.

Conclusion:

Bissell’s SpinWave Wet and Dry robot vacuums and scrubs your floors for a truly sparkling finish.
